Am 26. September fand in Bulgarien der dritte Nationale Beteiligungstag (National Participation Day) zur EU-Donauraumstrategie statt. Die Veranstaltung, organisiert vom Bürgerbeteiligungsforum in Kooperation mit dem Danube Civil Society Forum und Foster Europe, bot eine Plattform für Austausch, Information und neue Impulse zur Beteiligung von Bürger:innen und Organisationen an der Umsetzung der Strategie.
Standing Together for Europe and Democracy
Foster Europe and the Danube Civil Society Forum (DCSF) is also supporting the “Stand up for Europe and Democracy – A Sign of Unity” campaign within the Fit 4 Democracy project led by ILEU e.V., a founding member of the DCSF. The initiative invites people across Europe to join a participatory photo action, creating a digital mosaic that highlights solidarity, peace, and shared democratic values.

National Participation Day Earns Danube Strategy Flagship Status
The National Participation Day (NPD) has been awarded the prestigious Danube Strategy Flagship certificate, marking a significant step in fostering regional cooperation within the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR). As a national platform for structured civil society dialogue, the NPD strengthens collaboration between public actors and stakeholders, enabling valuable exchanges on ongoing projects and funding opportunities. This recognition highlights the NPD's crucial role in enhancing economic, social, and territorial cohesion across the Danube Region.
The Danube Civil Society Forum in the EU Strategy for the Danube Region
Foster Europe hosted the Danube Civil Society Forum’s first General Assembly 30 June – 1 July, at the Esterházy Castle in Eisenstadt, Austria. More than 100 NGO representatives and guests from all 14 participating countries (Germany, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Ukraine and Moldova) convened to establish the DCSF.
